A Land Surveyor is used to buying a cheap spray paint for $3.75 a can, but he has to spray 2 or 3 times to coat the same mark. So it takes at least 2 cans to do or mark what thisprefabricated permanent paint does and lasts longer, 2 cans x $3.75 = $7.50 and2 times longer in labor, compared at $1.30 per unit of prefabricated paint, also each time the Surveyor has to use the mark he has to coat it with spraypaint again and again.
An attractive social networking Business Profile has all of the components that one might consider putting into a printed flyer. The idea is to make your brand "sharable" across the web and the goal is to have other members or businesses share your profile in ways similar to "word of mouth." You Are the Missing Link
There is (as predicted) a LOT of talk surrounding the need for land surveyors to attend all sorts of seminars on Social Networking and how social media is changing the landscape for PLS and the ways in which business is changing worldwide. I know, I know. Groan-Sigh-Hiss. Sounds downright painful for those of us that consider the internet to be free and fun. The fact of the matter is, those who tell you this sort of stuff have made it a business to recruit you to do suc
Survey Says: SRX is the Cadillac of Total Stations
You might be surprised at how many similarities are shared between the powerhouse robotic station from Sokkia, the SRX and that ultra-luxury vehicle version, the Cadillac SRX. Of course, we've talked about the SRX (Sokkia version) before and reviewed many aspects of its utility in the surveying field. But when you search (on say Google), you see that the Cadillac version may be even a tad bit less popular than the Sokkia total station. Upon a lit

SURVEY CREW’S Land Monument Marks –Surveyor’s New Marking Paint Tired of wasting time and money because your marking paint have been erased and you could not find your PK station.
Have you been in the situation that you have to go back to farther stations in your traverse and redo work?
The most durable marking paints are too expensive and don’t even last more than a few weeks.
Have you ever needed to go back to the field to take data, and waste more time staking out stations than the time it takes
For surveyors out there who like to goof off (I can't imagine there are any, but what the hey), I have an exciting announcement. Among us is a member by the name of Clay Ostrom, animator, artist and the creator of a new animated series called "Surveyors of Land." This show is centered around the lives of two land surveyors who get in all sorts of adventures and troubles, while doing practically anything they can to get out of actually doing work. I had a chance to c
