Land Surveyors Store, LSU Updates and Getting Involved

Hello Friends, Surveyors and GeoSpatial Professionals
Last week we gave you the Official Land Surveyors Toolbar so that you can install it into your browser and stay connected with the discussions and activity on Land Surveyors United anywhere you go. This week we bring you something even more exciting! If you take a look at the sitewide toolbar up at the top of the network (click to expand it), you'll see that there have been some excellent new tools and enhancements added to better your experience on the network, including a store!
Introducing the New and Improved Sitewide Toolbar

New Toolbar for Surveyors

List of New Tools for Surveyors
Suggest a Link- Suggest a link to be added to the Land Surveyors United directory, which is being compiled and will be offered next month to all of our wonderful members at no cost. This will be available on-line as well as in PDF booklet form.

LSU Store- Our new store has been an idea that I've been steadily working on for some time now. At first, we had planned on a store which offered paypal checkout options, but found that paypal is both limiting and has security flaws which many surveyors just do not have the time to deal with. So, instead I've created the first ever toolbar store which loads on top of any page on the network (just like the picture above) and allows you to add items to a cart and when you're ready to checkout, will take you strait to a secured checkout page on Google's servers where you can pay for your items with any credit card, check or money order. Paypal options are still available by request.

LSU Member Map- You can open this version of the member map (which has also been updated in the usual spot) right on top of any page in the network for quick reference.

Translate- The translation tools have been moved to the toolbar to maximize the screen real estate here on the network. You can still translate the network into over 143 languages. In the near future, I will be creating dedicated version of LSU into selected languages for out international members.

United States Surveyors- You may have read that Land Surveyors United has social support groups for each of the 50 states of the US. If you happen to be an LSU member living in the United States, please choose the state in which you belong and join that group. Doing so will allow us to move into the next phase of development. As groups grow, I will be adding location-based enhancements to each group to better support surveyors in the respective areas. Our next phase is to roll our support groups dedicated to the outer-lying islands and provinces of the US. Then we move to Europe and Asia. Keep an eye on this toolbar as is grows increasingly useful to surveyors across the globe.

Social Media Stay on top of all social media discussions within and outside of Land Surveyors United right from the toolbar, where you can access the LSU Facebook Page, Twitter and even share information and content with the group.

How can You Help LSU to Grow?
That's simple. Become more active and share tips and tricks that other surveyors around the world need to succeed. You never know how useful that manual sitting on your hard drive or that equipment tutorial video you have could be to a surveyor in need. Thousands of surveyors visit LSU every week looking for help using equipment and software. Simply start a discussion and upload what you have with a short description...someone will find it valuable life saver and you become hero for a day! Simple as that! I look forward to your contributions to Land Surveyors United.
