Digest: 🧠 Massive Updates to Community - New Toolkits and Features -πŸ‘€

Welcome to all of our new members of the Community!Β  Β I have taken the past 2 weeks to dramatically trim down and scale back over 11,000 pages inside the community, making the pages load MUCH faster and making it more organized and compact.Β  I still have much work to do but some of the changes you'll now notice are the following:

  • Breadcrumb Navigation throughout the community, making it simpler to navigate andΒ  find your way back to where you started. Examples: Jobs,Β Β  Forums , Toolkits Β , Articles
  • Your Member Profile is much more organized and you'll find it much simpler to quickly add content to the community.Β  You'll also see that you can quickly find jobs, equipment deals and navigate to resources easier through your profile.
  • New dedicated pages for those who are Seeking Employment and for those who are Now Hiring
  • New page for finding Surveying Jobs by Location - the first module you see will show you available jobs near you as soon as you land on it.
  • Surveyor Mentorship and Surveying Knowledge Exchange Project Your experience in Land Surveying is priceless to the next generation.Β But more importantly, it is the glue which holds your crew together.Β Β We are trying something new as a community in order to attempt to improve inner crew communication across generations.Β

Enjoy, explore and contribute your surveying experiences to our community....a living library of land surveying which is not controlled by 3rd party interests- it is controlled by you, the surveyor. No one else in the world, aside from our community members, catalogs changes in the surveying industry. No one else focuses on collecting, curating and showcasing the importance of land surveyors to society for future generations to learn from and to promote public awareness of this importance.Β  We do and thank you for being a part of this effort.

It takes just a few moments per week for you to curate a rock solid legacy in surveying right from your LSU Profile, and every minute you spend sharing your experience will breathe ten years of life into the profession.Β  Everything you add to this community will someday outlive all of us..which is why I spend so much time doing what I can to make our network as sustainable as possible without having to rely on 3rd parties.

I sincerely hope you'll take a moment to check out all of the new additions and use them to accomplish your goals. As a 15 year old community, a LOT of time goes into keeping this community organized and functioning for all the surveyors out there.Β  Future generations are relying on us to support them with surveying knowledge.Β  I am simply trying to do my part by providing a place to do just that.Β Β Your donations to help with upkeep and maintenance are always appreciated and they help tremendously with our community bills and they keep the community moving forward.Β

Have a great weekend!

Justin
