An attractive social networking Business Profile has all of the components that one might consider putting into a printed flyer. The idea is to make your brand "sharable" across the web and the goal is to have other members or businesses share your profile in ways similar to "word of mouth." So lets look at some of the most important aspects of an attractive business profile forย Land Surveyors United.

Official Logo
The most important feature of your profile, by far. You should upload an official logo for your surveying company or business which is either already recognizable on the web or a logo which you plan to represent your business. Whatever this ends up beingย should be stuck with from this point forward. Switching official logos confuses people in the long run.ย When you prepare the image for upload try to have the logo in the dead center of a square so that the whole thing shows up in the profile box.ย Upload it into your "My Picture" section of your profile. When other members recommend your business, this will travel with it. Also, it will represent your company anytime you leave comments on forums, write blog posts or run special promotions on Land Surveyors United.

Example:ย Palmetto Equipment and Supply

Exact Location and Address
Indicating your exact location in your profile is the second most important thing you can do to increase business. It is not only important for members to physically find you, but it isย equally important for search engines to find you, group your information with other relevant info about your business and show up in search results when people are searching for your type of business.

Example:ย 420 King Street, Charleston SC 29401

Some examples of your products and services
This is a terrific way to express creativity while giving other LSU members a way to visualize what it is that you do. Use the photo and video sections of the network to put examples of your products and services out there. You can, for example upload a set of photos, take the embed code and place the slideshow anywhere on the web. When someone clicks on that slideshow, it will bring them back to your profile on the network. Upload only your best and most relevant images and think of them as "bait" for your potential customers.ย TIP:ย You can also use this method for sharing group photos from your last event to show the world how much fun everyone is having.

Relevant Company Informationย
As we say in the blogging world, "Content is King!" This means that the best and most relevant content of the web will always show up higher in search results than even the most expensive google adwords.ย How do you do this?By making sure you have at least one paragraph on your profile full of keywords that relate to your business.ย You can type this in the "text box" section of your profile. You should upload at least one image in this box and under the "options" link on the photo upload box, check the box next to "wrap text around image." This will produce a nice attractive description of your company with a visual representation for others to get a better idea of what you do. Your profile onย Land Surveyors Unitedย should be customized to look like your existing website or for those who have no website, they should be designed with a color scheme and imagery that reflect the industry which you are involved.

Example:ย "Here at Neighbor Design, we help small businesses and artists promote their products and services through web design, social media marketing and search engine optimization. If your website is not attracting new customers either because it can't be found or is difficult to navigate, we can show you how to make it much better on any budget. Just take a look at some of our client testimonials......."
