Long time since I have been on-line here. I salute LSU on growing a large base, and I have witnessed a growth in the content and number of members. This is a great all encomplassing surveying site. Have been working on a blog site, and a learning site that for land surveyors and GIS folks "who want to know about land surveying, GIS and people who I have been able to video. Lot's of short videos, interviews, tutorials, articles and papers on the historyl of Texas Land (Darrell Shine's collection) and HOW TO about GIS, studing for the survey exams, free database template download, interviews with land surveyors, academia, and GIS professionals. New training "5 Steps of Creating your own GIS to manage your surveying business - GIS OUT OF THE BOX starting first week in August. learning site - (like this one, I made it and maintain it as a private practice owner) www.thegeoexperts.com

Learn how you can help your local high school if you are in the US, as there is High School Land surveying, GIS, and CAD programs, that also teach leadership and instill great values and accountability. See same link to blog as that is top story till tomorrow or next day. www.RobertLYoung.net

GIS LAND SURVEYORS is what I am all about. I use GIS to manage my surveying business, and please look for an article coming soon in American Surveyor Magazine about how I think our company is thriving in this recession.

I have joined linked in, and have found it a great networking resource for land surveyors also.

Have been on Facebook, and need to spend some time, updating profile, and looking for your guys there..

Thank you LSU for setting this forum, as I am only looking for the surveyors wanting to be part of the GIS solutions. Survey Grade GIS is where I have invested almost 15 years all in private practice, and I want to share so others won't have such a long path. Sharing is needed in these tough timee we are all experiencing.

We are needing to re-invent ourselves to prosper in this new economy. Look forward to your interactions and input on the blog.

If this is not your thing, there is a lot of great knowledge, interaction, and resources at this site for sure.

God Bless All of YOU!

Have a Great Weekend, and please check out the sites, if you are looking to be part of the GIS solution, as the parcel layer is really a mess, and the GIS folks really need the help of all of the land surveyors in the USA.
