Why Sokkia SRX is the Cadillac of Total Stations

Survey Says: SRX is the Cadillac of Total Stations

You might be surprised at how many similarities are shared between the powerhouse robotic station from Sokkia, the SRX and that ultra-luxury vehicle version, the Cadillac SRX. Of course, we've talked about the SRX (Sokkia version) before and reviewed many aspects of its utility in the surveying field. But when you search (on say Google), you see that the Cadillac version may be even a tad bit less popular than the Sokkia total station. Upon a little inspection one might see that the two products share a little more than just three letter name similarity.

Just take a look at some of the features that Sokkia's SRX comes packing for just a little over $20k:

Is it just me or could Sokkia just as easily be selling a car here? Nevertheless, with Cadillac SRX's starting price of $38,880 you could almost purchase 2 of Sokkia's. Even in the advertising campaign one SRX may as well be substituted for the other.

So sleek and fashionable, don't you think?

Although this post has been obviously posted in jest, i think its safe to say that theSokkia SRX is the Cadillac of total stations...Drive safely, surveyors!

This post is just for fun, obviously. It was originally posted on the Palmetto Equipment Blog on August 5, 2008
