Land Surveying, provide precise biophysical information (x,y,z) coordinates in a single/multiple points observation. GIS & Cartography, are not used to obtain fundamental biophysical information however, it can show, display & process the information from data obtain from other sources (e.g. land surveying & remote sensing). Remote Sensing on the other hand, provide fundamental biophysical information including coordinates, elevation, depth, etc. and can cover large geographical areas.
