Hello Fellow Surveyors,
Can someone please recommend any free cad/drafting software available from the web?
Awhile ago it was mentioned here but haven't had the chance to get back on.
Can anyone recommend a good E & O carrier and what would be a good deductible for a small survey company doing boundary work only?
Your help would be appreciated!
Thanks, Paul

Hey Paul... if my memory serves me right, there are several posts inside the Surveyors Online Toolbox Group in addition to these free alternatives to CAD
Hope this helps!
Hi Paul,
I don't know of any good (free/open source) cad/drafting software available on the web. The operative qualifier is "good". I know of some out there, but wouldn't waste any more of my time testing them.
As far as a deductible for E&O insurance is concerned, choose the amount that won't put you out of business for the first claim, but be frugal enough to know that if you do good work, such a claim probably won't happen.
I hope I didn't over-generalize in my reply, but I understand that every business is unique in its needs and operating capital, so without more specifics, that's the best I can offer.
