How to use Forums
Our forums on Land Surveyors United are here to be used as much for finding help with problems in the field as the are for you to express your opinions on anything that has to do with land surveying in general. Feel free to share anything that is on your mind, as long as it isn't meant to damage another member's reputation. We are committed to allowing freedom of expression for all of our members, and that includes maintaining a safe space for people with opposing views to express themselves. We get posts from all over the country and even the globe, so needless to say, people come with different viewpoints on lad surveying practices and processes. We see this diversity and variety as a real strength-- dialogue and debate are an integral part of the educational process, as well as an important tool in exploring different sides of complex issues.

I'm Confused whether these are just bench marks (Elevation only) or Complete Stations (Coordinated with Level). You need to find out what is disturbing your stations or BM's and then decide whether to keep them there or move them somewhere else. Usually Traffic and heavy plant or equipment working close by is the main culprit. This is something you need to think about to stop the problem happening again before you do anything else.
Mr Robinson,
It is complete station,XYandZ ....here the area settelement is very high the compound wall (Boundary wall)is designed with pile foundation, but after 6months there is very big settlement all walls get crack .
thank you Mr Robinson I will consider your decision.
As per Mr Cavell, if you have time, careful retraversing with closure with decent kit on an arbitary grid then comparing the network to the existing control point coordinates should give you the answers, depending on the accuracy and adjustments methods employed for the control network to begin with.
ok I will check
Dear Mr. Kingsley,
The answer to your question is to measure between all the points by any normal surveying means. Perform an unconstrained adjustment. That will, in most cases, identify the errant point.
What courses on surveying did you take in your study for Civil Engineering and 8 years experience as professional land surveyor?
Yours truly,
JAC
ok sir i will set the TS over all control points and check the distance again. Already the points are fixed and get approved. due to heavy equipment movement like crane ,integrated rig or launchers the whole area is shaking because the area is filled with 3m of dredged sand from deep sea .....i just asked is there any easy way to find disturbed points.
5mm is not a matter for escavation, topo ,raft foundation or even pileing operation but if i fix anchor bar less than 10mm dia it will make problem
and i don't like to post my personal details here.
Yes I will check all points distance again.........Thx
