Texas county road ROW

Does anyone know if there is a statute or precedent set in Texas that defines the county's right of way width if the property lines for the adjoining properties go to the CL of the road? The roads that I am referring to are county maintained roads, not under TXDOT.

Thanks!

Here is a link to a number of opinions by the Texas AG that may be helpful. I don't remember off hand where it mentions your specific question but I recall reading an opinion that touched on this subject about 10 year ago or so. Hope this helps.

Typically if the road is maintained by the county there will be a record of this filed in the minutes of the Commissioners court. I check your county Right of way department if you can't find it at he County Clerk's office. If it is maintained by the City then check with their planning department. I don't have it handy but the Texas AG wrote an opinion on this subject about 10 years ago you should be able to find it with a Google search.

This is actually a better question to ask inside the Texas Land Surveyors Group forum, but i'll see if I can help you get some answers.
