OPUS TROUBLES

I have a Trimble 4700 base and rover I have always used for OPUS Solutions in the past. Always worked greeat until today. OPUS sent me the following message I have no idea what it means or how to fix it.

1. The data only contained values for a single frequency

2. RINEX not formatted correctly

3. One of the lines in the RINEX file is over 80 characters long

Any help? Thanks!

    Dear Roy,

I did download your rinex data and convert it to version 2.11, and try to send it to Auspos attached is the result.

I do agree with John, to convert the rinex to a lower version of 2.11

    Hope this help. .

Note: the antenna is a TRM22020.00-GP (no ground plane).  The AUSPOS GPS Processing Report indicates it as being a TRM22020.00+GP.

Here you go... just converted the RINEX 3 file to a RINEX v2.11 file.

  • When I had problems using Ashtech, I would compare the file to one which did go thru using notepad and try to make mine look similar except for the reads themselves, it was time consuming but it worked everytime.

You can use TEQC to strip out all observations except L1, L2 and P1 and it will work. You can send me the file if you wish and I'll fix it for you if you'd like. I wrote a paper on this once so I'll see if I can did it up.

  • I had a lot of error message and the memory appears to be with space but was full. I copy the file of config and erase and format the memory. That fixed my problem.

  • Greetings Roy,

I would check, (maybe you have already) the Survey Styles.  You probably are using the RTK Infill so check there for the rover settings.  Make sure you are using L1 and L2.  This will give you both frequencies and allow your Rinex conversion to work.

It has been a long time since I used the 4700 but these settings are the same for the R8's.

    Hope this helps.
