Hi guys!

I wonder how to edit reflector height value in SDR33 database. I went through the system but I found nothing. Did I miss something?

I can easily edit raw data in Fieldgenius and SurvCE.

Thank you.

Regards.

  • There is another problem that I need to deal with. I noticed that when Stn is edited or accidentally edited, you have no way of bypassing backsight reading. This annoys me if in case you're at the middle of measuring sideshots and you accidentally edited Stn. I noticed that I have no way of bypassing backsight reading. I need to perform the orientation process all over again. Did I miss something?

  • Hi Andrew!

Thank you for sharing. That is the fact that I need to deal with. I'll just note in that particular observation that reflector height needs correction.

    Regards.

You can edit the target height after each observation. If the observation is accepted with the wrong target height it is not possible to edit it on the SDR33.

    Hey arnel

if you haven't yet seen this SDR33 User Manual, it may be worth a look:

Also here is a powerpoint presentation i dug up which offers some more advanced training on SDR33

And finally, this document I found seems to have a lot of mentions of reflector adjustments for SDR33

  • @Arie: I went through the SDR33 manual (very thoroughly), tested the system itself, and informed from other seasoned SDR33 users confirmed the inability to edit hr height in database. Well, if that's the case I shall use notes to provide the correction information then perform correction in PC.

Thank you for your prompt reply.

  • I have an old SDR33 sitting on the self in my office, unfortunately the batteries are dead and I don't have any spares.

I quick look through the reference manual doesn't reveal anything helpful either, but I remember that what I really liked about the unit was that it would prompt you for the rod height every shot that you took.  It was hard to put the wrong target height in.

The target or rod height prompt was on the same screen as where it would prompt for the description, after it took the shot I think.

  • I actually wish to edit hr values right in the SDR33 controller. The ability to edit hr values in SDR33 database (raw data) after reading provides a good facility to minimize elevation errors.

In the raw SDR file, you are able to edit the Height. The line you are looking for is this line. It will not appear at every shot but will only appear when there is a change in your instrument or target height.

      03NM1.35000000

In the old SDR collectors- If you set your job settings to not record height, there would not be this line at all and when collecting your data, they will not prompt you for it as well.
