GEO Ambassador

Over the rest of this week, Land Surveyors United is rolling out a new feature which many of you will be very excited about.  Introducing Member Categories and Badges!

The next time you log-in to the network you may see some new bling attached to your member profile photo due to your helpful contributions and support of the network.  If you happen to be a moderator for your local group forum, you'll see 'Regional Rep' on top of your profile photo or if you've been contributing an exceptional amount of content, you may see a 'Superstar' badge added to your profile.  If you are interested in becoming the moderator for your local group forum on the network, simply send an email to [email protected] with the subject "I Wanna Rep (your area here)."  We have group forums for all 50 US states and all 7 continents.

What does this mean?

Your profile avatar follows you where ever you comment or contribute to Land Surveyors United.  Now, other members will know of your klout on the network and instantly recognize your expertise in the geospatial industry at a glance.

This is the first phase of a list of new features we will be rolling out over the next month (along with the directory and android app) which will help you in your efforts towards building a rock-solid professional reputation online. Please send any questions or feedback on this new feature and help us improve upon it and make it exactly how you think it should be.

We look forward to your comments and suggestions!

How to use Forums
Our forums on Land Surveyors United are here to be used as much for finding help with problems in the field as the are for you to express your opinions on anything that has to do with land surveying in general. Feel free to share anything that is on your mind, as long as it isn't meant to damage another member's reputation. Please keep it clean and help insure that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of being part of a community that grows together.

We are committed to allowing freedom of expression for all of our members, and that includes maintaining a safe space for people with opposing views to express themselves. We get posts from all over the country and even the globe, so needless to say, people come with different viewpoints on lad surveying practices and processes. We see this diversity and variety as a real strength-- dialogue and debate are an integral part of the educational process, as well as an important tool in exploring different sides of complex issues.

All Community Hubs inside the community have their own forum for asking specific questions to other surveyors, by location, equipment type, etc.
