I have a prospective project that has an estimated volume of approx 1,600,000m^3. The project has budgeted for one surveyor the work area has multiple borrow pits in non central locations (4km between borrow pits). I will be using RTK to setout toes and ect but can not see a one surveyor responsibly managing the collection of such volumes with one rtk rover.
It is for this reason I have turned my sites to Terrestrial Laser Scanning, I thought I would post this as a discussion here to get the opinion of others with there experience of using scanners in this application.
( should also note that there are limited elevated view points of the work site, although I could get a D10 to push a view up for me, so the scanning view point will be on the same plane and the subject area.
