Hello everyone. I recently posted the "freeze up" issue with my TSC3 controller. It has happened with both of my controllers now and i'm not getting a lot of help from Trimble at this point. 1 of my controllers is under warranty still and the other is not. I'm wondering if all the firmware on my desktop, S6 and controllers are the latest and working together properly. I have found that information out and there is a difference. Can i update the versions on my collectors myself? I'm not getting any clear fixes yet. Thanks. Bob

I have been using TSC3 data collectors for years and ever since upgrading to version 2017 or higher I have had Freeze up issues. doesn't matter the collector or firm version all 6 of our collectors do it. also in version 2017.10 it Forgets GPS rod heights after a hard reboot. you must edit the survey style of the last GPS style you used before the reboot and edit the rod height to 2meters. I must reboot my collector daily because it freezes or runs slow. I have tried to Run TIM and redo or upgrade the Firmware or access version but it never helps.
I hate Trimble! the come out with the best stuff first but with ALOT of Gremlins
You can do it yourself it is not that big of a deal to upgrade your firmware. Make sure all your jobs are backed up first. I would call the guys at Frontier Precision and have them walk you through it if you do not feel comfortable with it. They helped me with it.
Take them to your Trimble dealer to be repaired.
