Hello everyone.  I just joined and would like to introduce myself.  My name is John Coldrick and I work and live in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

I work for Brandt Positioning Technology.  It is the largest Topcon/Sokkia dealer in Canada.

I am the sale rep for the province.

I have created a technical support website for my British Columbian customers, but I wanted all the Topcon users here to be aware of it.

www.JohnColdrick.ca

I am constantly updating my site and currently I have 6 Topcon/Sokkia related support guides with more to come.

The guides are written in a step-by-step, screen-by-screen format directed to the first time user.

I was previously employed by a Trimble dealer, and I created over 50 support documents on Trimble products.  I will not be adding any more Trimble material but I have left them up for all of my former customers.

My guides are available for all to use. I encourage feedback so if you use any, please send me along a note about yourself.

Check out my home page.  I received a wonderful "thank you" email from a US Army Sargent in Iraq.

Nice work John! It looks like you'll feel right at home here on LSU..we are all about helping surveyors save time, learn quick and teach others... You may be interested in checking out the extensive library of Hardware documents and Quick Start Guides (in the navigation under field book). Feel free to add any help docs that you have to the network by simply uploading them through a blog post or discussion. They will automatically be converted to open up as a lightbox on top of the screen for easy viewing. Welcome to LSU and I look forward to seeing your hard work put to the test...cheers!

nice work and terrific goals, John! That is exactly what LSU is working towards as well. Perhaps you might like to set up a Q&A Group here on LSU and have discussions or even import your site...the possibilities are endless .... surveyors need support...and the type of support only other surveyors can give them! well played!

by the way, if you ever need any website help let me know...my son is a wiz...he built this site

Our forums on Land Surveyors United are here to be used as much for finding help with problems in the field as the are for you to express your opinions on anything that has to do with land surveying in general. Feel free to share anything that is on your mind, as long as it isn't meant to damage another member's reputation. Please keep it clean and help insure that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of being part of a community that grows together.

We are committed to allowing freedom of expression for all of our members, and that includes maintaining a safe space for people with opposing views to express themselves. We get posts from all over the country and even the globe, so needless to say, people come with different viewpoints on lad surveying practices and processes. We see this diversity and variety as a real strength-- dialogue and debate are an integral part of the educational process, as well as an important tool in exploring different sides of complex issues.

All Community Hubs inside the community have their own forum for asking specific questions to other surveyors, by location, equipment type, etc.
