Hello Fellow Surveyors,

I am starting a land survey business focusing on small boundary projects and would like any recommendations/suggestions/advice on the process. If there are any good books specific to land surveying business practices....information on insurances coverage....software...buying equipment new/used....recommended drafting products...I've used Trimble products throughout my career and would like to use them if financially possible but would be open to other reliable products. Any real world advice that you can't read about would be appreciated.

Thanks, Paul

Hey that is great. The first thing to be concerned about is how to keep track of the work you do. Nothing is more embarrassing than surveying a property and then surveying the adjoined later and finding a different boundary.
    • Hello Deward,

Thanks for the advice...in some places I've worked they've kept good historical data and in others not so. Really...why recreate the wheel.  Thanks Again, Paul
