There are a number of typos in the story but I have received some questions about myself so I thought I would answer them here. I worked and lived in New Jersey for about 5 years in the late 80s where I got my first License. It was not unusual to see descriptions in the Public Record that were 2 hundred years old there. I live and practice in Houston Texas currently and I routinely locate monuments in downtown Houston more than 100 years old. They are there if you look for them and the last time I checked Texas case law suggests a Land Surveyor is required to locate the boundary where it was originally located at on the ground. Finding original monuments is paramount in performing this duty.
