"GPS receiver does not respond"

Latest software installed and all menus appear to work normally.

This uint was bought new. Worked for about 2 days then above problem started!

I am in Libya so the guarentee period expired during the unrest.

While I like the Leica brand, all purchases of new equipment have had problems with malfunctions. 2 out of 3 GPS503's had to be returned within weeks of purchase. (Not due to the clock errors of a few years ago)

Since Leica insist on service contracts at time of purchase, I wonder if the final operational condition is checked as fully as it might be! Being in Libya it was very inconvenient to simply take it back to the shop, imposssible at the time in fact. The Leica official agents now exist in Tripoli and service and repair are possible, or at least were until the uinrest started. I still have to check the status of "AlNibras" workshop and facilities.
