Hello,

Been a while since I've been on this forum. I've been involved in laser scanning and BIM for many years. In the past I've helped construction personnel establish points in CAD files to be loaded into total stations through data controllers. I've had a career change and am now a general contractor. I'd like to learn how to use a total station so I can use it to layout my foundations from a surveyors control points. Anyone in Denver interested in teaching me? I've put an ad on craigslist with no luck. Any ideas for total station lessons would be appreciated.

Best - Emilio

Welcome back!   The first place I would start is inside videos section.  For example there are 168 Total station videos that i found just by searching for "Total Station"

Let us know if you need help with some specific aspect or a particular model.. good luck!

There are some good videos on youtube that should help. Also, read the manual of your Total Station and that should tell you most of what you need to know. What make and model do you have? What data collector and what survey software do you have? Also, I think Denver has a surveying school. You could drop by and ask one of the instructors for a quick tutorial.
