dear all,
good day to all.
i am going to start a new industrial construction site.
how can start it, what we can do in preliminary survey,
and how can i start a traverse, what are requirements for start a new traverse.
thanking you to all.

We are committed to allowing freedom of expression for all of our members, and that includes maintaining a safe space for people with opposing views to express themselves. We get posts from all over the country and even the globe, so needless to say, people come with different viewpoints on lad surveying practices and processes. We see this diversity and variety as a real strength-- dialogue and debate are an integral part of the educational process, as well as an important tool in exploring different sides of complex issues.

Hi Jazu
Before you start it is good to do a bit of planning.
- For a traverse you need control points (points with known coordinates). See were they are.
- Think about were you need further points. (new points for future use as control points)
- Connect control points with traverses. Best practice is a network with an adjustment (calculation). If you use traverses try to have straight line not a zigzag line. Try to reduce points - measure over a long distance is better than several stations with short measurements....
Plan this well. There are a few software where you can plan this before you do measurements. Most of them are designed to check big networks (not useful for smaller sites) I did a lot of construction measurement in Switzerland and always wanted something that helps me directly on the site. Therefore I programmed my own Android App BestNetwork. Try quickly different network arrangment. Check your network design .The App takes your geodetic network as input and calculates the a priori estimated error of your network design.
Hope this helpful

ok my freind i will try to share something to you the first thing to do traverse or to start surveying work in new plant or project you need to have control points ( bench mark ) on monument you may be get this known bench mark near to ur site or plant but the main things is to establish the real ground elevation..as it exist. This provides the base information for it to be engineered for a future site. The new site will require the position of a new structure, which will connect to a existing road, and drainage.etc. Along with the lay of the land, it will be engineered to provide a new site layout with all the proper cut and fill directions to meet the requirements for this site.In short, you do a topo so you know the exist land contours, so all the specifications for new development can be designed from.so that based on your control points u can do traverse but make sure that ur travers is closed finaly .
