Land Surveyor

Hy guys!

as you see below civil 3d 2017 does not show up the real surface or figure of ground, based on the data(points of that site) here the blue line represent a ditch (that have about 30CM depth and the tow sites are concreted level surface), so the contours not appear as it should

what is your suggestion?

I have used break line commands, added new points manually even 1Mx1M but the issue not corrected!

Regards.

You might also start by making sure your wall lines are breaklines that are included in your surface, providing an offset (not quite vertical) "base of wall" and adding elevation points (not PIs) to the breaklines - you can add them in batch by increment, say every 2'.  This will help refine your TINs triangulation.

The point at the upper left wall corner has some contours running to it that make me think the point elevation may be incorrect.  Check your point and breakline elevations to see that they make sense.

Enable yout tin (triangle) view and manipulate those so that none cross your breaklines, the tin has to run along all the breaklines.

Swap edge and add line are the best for this if your c3d feature lines arent working right

Delete tin lines to control your surface boundary

  • The previous commenets are as mine - got to "Surface Properties"  then "Edit Surfce Style"  then pick the Display tab and make triabgles visible.  You will see some triangles cross your channel sideways - go back to the surces main menu and select "edit surface" out of that drop down pick "swap edge" then select the offending triangles to flip so the edges don't cross the channel top to top.

It takes some getting used to, but its easy to fix

define surface as contour and triangles and you`ll see where you need to ad brake line if needed, define a boundary or if you need more points . the triangles will define the surface between 2 measured points , wider the measured points, less accurate the surface will be ( if lots of elevation variations on surface)
