We are committed to allowing freedom of expression for all of our members, and that includes maintaining a safe space for people with opposing views to express themselves. We get posts from all over the country and even the globe, so needless to say, people come with different viewpoints on lad surveying practices and processes. We see this diversity and variety as a real strength-- dialogue and debate are an integral part of the educational process, as well as an important tool in exploring different sides of complex issues.

I suggest using GPS, ideally with a 3-receiver base network. RTK is an option for real time work, or post-processed static will also work. Site conditions must allow sky view of course, and the base stations need to be well laid out (in terms of geometry) coordinated, levelled, etc. We've used a single base RTK setup on cable stayed bridges (up to RL +135m only) to check/verify the pylon jump form coordinates using a 3-pt resection and the results were similar.
In a location where it is not possible to see ground control points, even on neighbouring buildings, careful use and management of GPS equipment and methods should work.
