If we cannot think outside our local environment, we become chained to it. We are all chain-breaking for the Future on Land Surveyors United!
International Land Surveyors Week 2014 (June 15-22) is for Land Surveyors in any country on earth to celebrate the value of professional land surveyors in society. This is our 3rd year celebrating this week and it is slowly changing the industry into a more open and engagable situation for surveyors all around the world. Have you recently noticed all of the surveying magazines and forum websites pushing the idea that they are global and/or international? No need to wonder why.. just look at what we are doing together here on Land Surveyors United. Stand up and represent your area of the world by introducing yourself in Groups for practically every inch of the earth! What we are building is a comprehensive network for educating those new to surveying about both the similarities and differences shared between surveyors around the world based on locations, which we all know carry different guidelines and rules. Tell us stories about your surveying experiences where you live and enjoy reading the stories of others who live elsewhere, but face similar professional challenges. In the future, the most well rounded surveyors will be those who understand how things are done outside of their local environment. Build, Grow and Improve your Surveying Carrier, Together!
No Mind Left Behind
SURVEY EARTH in a DAY 3D occurs next Saturday, so if you happen to be a surveyor who will need to borrow equipment from your company for the weekend, please remember to make the necessary arrangements with your boss. SEIAD will occur at Noon on Saturday June 21st and surveyors across the globe will be taking survey grade GPS measurements within their local area and submitting them to Land Surveyors United, as we measure the entire earth during the course of a single day. Represent the land surveyors in your area of the world by participating in surveyor events each and every day of International Surveyors Week 2014. On Thursday, we will be sending out the form for submitting your data for Survey Earth in a Day.

Short Notes!
New Version of Global Member Map to be released on Wednesday!
Migration to the New and Improved Land Surveyors United Platform will occur around the first of the month after the activities of International Surveyors Week have calmed down.
Do yourself and your colleagues a solid favor and take it upon yourself to reach out and meet or assist other land surveyors in the community. Today we cross 6600 members worldwide! This is no small feat! Our network is twice as large as the next largest community for surveyors on earth. Over 5900 surveyors following on Facebook alone! Thank you for your participation and sharing your experiences on Land Surveyors United. YOU are making the future a much brighter place for the next geo-generation!
Respectfully,
Justin Farrow
Thoughts
@Axemenย ย its not necessarily that they are mad... Justin decided not to send any press releases or get anyone else involved (trade rags) this year because in the previous two years, all they have done is try to rip it off as you said... Last year, the NSPS even went so far as to try to rename an entirely different day "World Surveyors Day" and as you can see with any bit of searching that there has never been a repeat of such a day... just another copycat.ย We invited them to participate...they just want to control something which should and does belong to the surveyors themselves..not big budget advertising firms..ย if it made them money, they would do it...ย I am proud of Justin for the decisions he has made and all of the hard work which goes into promoting and hosting these events which will mean so much in history..ย It is a thankless job most of the time.ย We should all be more generous withย donating to this network to help it continue to grow...everyone will eventually come around..Glad you're aboard!
Go Surveyors!
this is yet another amazing initiative by LSU to bring the industry together..its a shame that all of the industry trade rags and pubs are scared to promote it because they're mad they didn't think of it first...every year I see them try to rebrand itor rename it in order to control it..great work!
