Introducing PhotoTag Android App for Land Surveyors

GeoTag Your Surveying Photos

We've highlighted mobile Android Apps for land surveyors in the past, but the app we are introducing today will knock your socks off!   Make way for PhotoTag, an app developed by our partners at Surveying.org  for Android Devices which takes the pain out of attaching geolocations to your photos from the field!

PhotoTag is not just an application for taking photos with Latitude, Longitude and Direction but adds addresses like those we use every day for giving directions and Public Land Survey System (PLSS) data used by surveyors. It is designed for Land Surveyors, Realtors, GIS professionals or anyone needing a simple easy to understand location with their photos. For those professionals who use PLSS data, PhotoTag adds this information where available. “A photo is worth a thousand words”, how about a photo with description, directions, time stamp, PLSS location and wealth of detailed information.

  • PhotoTag photos can be emailed as KMZ for geo-referenced onto Google Earth, PDF files, custom documents or just a simple photo.
  • Surveyors: Eliminate the time it takes to record monuments by automatically adding PLSS data and photos to each document.
  • Realtors: Eliminate much of the time it takes to post a new listing. Instantly add photos with local address and other relevant information.
  • GIS professionals: Each photo is saved in a KMZ for reference onto Google Earth. Quickly email KMZ with photos to those in your mailing list.

We are working closely with Surveying.org to make this Android app better and better, so please remember to provide feedback and suggestions for future updates!  Enjoy!
