Member Map Migration

I am excited to announce our new alliance with Surveying.org , which will mean BIG things for the network! First of all, next week we will be moving our global member map to Surveying.org (which means we will be officially 'surveying' as a community, both online and in real life. NOTE: It is now more important than ever for your profile to be in top shape and all information (especially location!) You can use the Geopicker to find your Latitude and Longitude. On Monday I will be making a fresh map from the data in your profiles so please take a minute to make sure everything is in order. Remember that Land Surveyors United is a professional organization which is dedicated to your success. Help us help you by putting your best profile forward.  I hope to see a lot of updated profile happening this weekend.

The Future of the Member Map

Currently our member map is static and updated manually. In the near future, I will be working on ways for the map to be dynamically updated and for your status updates and photos to be shown in real time on the Surveying.org site. This means when you check in using the mobile interface, you'll be surveying both in real life and online! When this happens, we will be actually "surveying" together all over the globe, everyday. This will be amazingly helpful for surveyors who need support and those who can offer support to their associates from any location on earth.

Group Forums Go Mobile!!

When I first began building Land Surveyors United, location based social support for surveyors was my goal. I am extremely happy to announce that this functionality has finally arrived. Now you can interact with your group forums from any device and network with other surveyors in your area, find help with equipment issues and discuss surveying topics while on the go! Land Surveyors University Level One Mission

Since the relaunch of Land Surveyors University, we have been plugging away at improving many aspects of the event such as definite timelines for Levels, missions which span across geospatial niches and ability to submit evidence from mobile devices. The new Mission for Level One has been posted and you have around 25 days to complete this simple mission. This is as simple as it gets so be descriptive with your submissions and rack up as many points as possible early on. The missions get more challenging as the University progresses through to Level 10. Each level lasts for approximately 30 days, so don't get left behind. You must accomplish a level through submission of evidence to receive an invitation to the next level. Big prizes await in higher levels through our sponsors. If you care to sponsor a level, let us know.

Tips to Help You Along the Way to Level Ten

I am so very happy to be in this place in time with all of you. With over 3130 members worldwide, we are still the largest geospatial social network on the planet! I have little money but a lot of drive to get this right for your futures. We are putting surveyors on the map, together. If there is ever anything within my power that I can do to help enrich your surveying lives, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. My goal is to help you reach your professional dreams. If you find value in what we are doing, please consider making a donation to the network to help with development and hosting.

Best Regards,
