Big mistake rookie!

In our line of work we seen people come and go like seasons in a year. As I-man at the time during the Barnett shale in Dallas Fort Worth area,we had a wave of temps come through our company. I love to help the up and coming. But the kid they put on our crew was cocky arrogant and wreck less. Within the third day he was confident, I asked him to start the job on the dc and he lipped, you do it man I already know this pipeline stuff it's easy, you'll be on my crew one day. My PC looked at me and smirked, he said mario, it's all yours. We had a small topo to collect but we couldn't drive it. It was 3800 feet away, so I told the rookie, were going to go do a topo put about 30 lathe in the bag 2 cans of orange paint and the 2lb sledge hammer. As we get there my pc can't stop laughing..the rookie asks what's so funny, he said boy you've been yapping you know everything about pipeline right? He responds yes sir I do, we'll you should know you don't need lathe for topo! Boy that rookie cussed and cried all the way back to the truck. He called in the next day . Day after that he was as a humble as can be. Thanks for reading.
