Let's extend a warm welcome to all of our newest members to join the community!
We just crossed our 18,200th member this week! YOU are the reason why Land Surveying will outlive all of us....as it should.
Land Surveying becomes stronger everyday and will never die as long as we continue to breathe new life into the art and science which continues to inspire all of us toward becoming better surveyors.
Our Focus for this message today is on Mentorship and how to bridge the gaps currently holding surveying back. Please try to wrap your mind around what we are trying to do here as it gets better
Mentorship for Land Surveyors United Members
Because the public knows more about Bigfoot than they do about Land Surveyors...
- Our Mentorship Hub has been completely redesigned and we even threw in an explanation for why we are using Bigfoot as our Mentorship Guides...
- A BIG Thank you goes out to those who have been helping spot bugs and work out the kinks... The apps have been updated and fixed with a new onboarding process which helps everyone know where everyone else is coming from...
- Here is a quick link to check out the new apps designed to bring the community together and educate the next generation. Learn more inside this page for our Crew Apps

Fun fact: 116,000+ individuals have tried to join this community since March of 2007, but only those who clearly demonstrated within their profile the goal to improve themselves as surveyors and appear willing contribute to the longevity of surveying have been admitted. With that said, since our last update, we've accepted our 18,100th member, which is valuable, if not priceless, for the surveying profession. Nevertheless, in the grand scheme of things, numbers mean very little for future surveyors if we do not unify, build bridges of understanding and strengthen our body of knowledge, as a community of practice and passion. It is my hope that you will find more similarities than differences inside Land Surveyors United while learning something new everyday. Our goal is for all members to recognize that this is the place to come together, focus through the noise and share our percieved differences so that the similarities that we share in surveying become illuminated. Together, we are actively educating the public while supporting and celebrating each other's hard work, innovations and expertise. Thinking locally and surveying globally as a virtual l crew upon which all of us can depend for support is how we usher surveying into the next generation.

All of these simple ways to make surveying better and more well connected are here, available for you everyday! Your community profile is a reflection of your experience and expertise in land surveying and someday when you and I have passed on, it will be your lasting legacy which continues to inspire in perpetuity. I keep this community alive for this very reason.... it is what my dad, Skip Farrow wanted when we first began to build it...and here is it today, his ever lasting legacy and testiment to what he cared the most about, helping surveyors solve problems. It does not cost anything to care but not caring may cost all of us everything in the future.
Have a great weekend everyone!
