If you live in an area with frequent snow fall, you might like to see how deep the snow is where you are working before heading out to survey.  This is a handy Google Map Mashup for checking out snow depth which will make this task easier (found via).

The map uses colored map markers to show at a glance the depth of the snow at different resorts. If you click on a resort's map marker you can click through to view a full snow report for the selected resort.

The same site also provides a Google Map of the current weather conditions.

    1. Google Earth's Weather layer, sourced from the US Naval Research Lab (updated hourly)
    2. NASA's Earth Science Office(global imagery updated every 6 hours)
