Show us why the public should always call a land surveyor

Where are you surveying?

Living the Dream, a historical fiction novel

The thought of writing a book never entered my mind until this story came to me in a dream one night. I also wanted to show a little love for my friends and family through the characters in the book. Unfortunately, there aren't many books with a Land Surveyor as the protaganist. This was an opportunity to expose the public to our passion.

Although I've written thousands of land descriptions, it didn't make me a writer. I don't even read books! I am a vivid daydreamer which makes reading difficult, but is essential in writing fiction. I let the story play in my head and wrote it down. The hard part was formatting, editing, making the cover, and finding an economical printer.

You can preview the book at Amazon or lulu. If you decide to preview or purchase it, there are links on my website, www.barrycoughlin.com and info on the book, me and reviews.

Thank you!

Barry

  • Here are some of the comments from other authors on a site by a major publisher.
"Living the Dream - Ingenious, a compelling and suspenseful read. William's daydreaming passion became real in a strange and unpredictable way. Suddenly he was steeped in history-making events. A story of wonderful high imagination."

"This is a really brilliant storyline, complete with historical details giving it credibility. The writing is tight, factual, and easy to follow in spite of being highly detailed."

"This is a brilliant story. I love the title and pitch. The opening is excellent and I especially liked the part where he daydreamed about being a surveyor from the late 19th century, I can relate. This has excellent descriptions and is very well written, best of luck with it."
