surveying history (2)

The basics fundamentals of land surveying have not changed since it first began, however the land survey equipment has changed drastically over the years. In the past, land survey techniques had the right principles, however due to less knowledge and technology they weren't overly accurate or reliable. Modern land survey techniques are incredibly precise largely due to advanced technology available to create the tools used to perform the land survey techniques.
For modern day Land Surveyors, this is nothing new.   Surveying has been around for a very long time. It is known as the second oldest profession and men have been practicing it since early 3000 BC. It was used in ancient Egypt when they built the pyramids, and was used by the Roman Empire to establish tax registers of conquered lands. Surveying requires a skill in mathematics and was one of the first professions to be licensed.
