As Site Development company, our major scope of work is utility installations, grading and road work. 

We are looking to hire a full-time Land Surveyor, licensed in the state of Virginia preferred, but not required.  This role provides support for the GPS equipment on site and helps to make the job more efficient and aids in productivity. Seeking a self-starter with the ability to work independently.

 

  • Coordinating the initial layout at the job site and provides continuous monitoring of the same
  • Providing project control local network required for construction stakeout & GPS.
  • Providing topographic surveys, as-builts, quantity measurements and existing surface verifications as required.
  • Able to read plans and perform quantity estimations.
  • Knowledge of grade work, materials, underground utilities and highway work.
  • Interpret drawings and specifications and apply them to the physical layout at the job site.
  • Familiarity and expertise with Trimble GPS equipment, Trimble machine control, Trimble total station setup and Trimble Works Manager.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center.
  • Ability to build surface models for GPS machine control.
  • Utilize and have a thorough understanding of surveying practices and equipment use
  • Must have good math skills
  • Work must be performed carefully and with great accuracy
  • This is a field and office position- willingness to work outside and in all weather conditions

 

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year ~ Based on experience

 

~Company Truck provided - Must have a valid driver's license & a good driving record

~Sign-on bonus provided
