Hi Sokkia GRX1 GPS users!

Using a GRX1 Sokkia GPS, I did 4 static observations for at least 15 minutes each individual point (4 points total).  I was trying to do a RINEX conversion using Topcon Link.  The first file converted fine using Topcon Link, but the next 3 could not convert.  The error message appeared "Format of file was not recognized."  It almost seems like the next 3 files I collect after the first static file, have some missing data file(CODE), maybe?!?  I was using a Sokkia GRX1 running on a FC236 data collector with TopSURV (latest version).

Has anyone come across this error?  And does anyone have any suggestions?!?

TIP:

I have heard that you can also use just the GRX1 receiver to collect static files, by pressing the on/off button 3 times quickly.  Does this work?!?  I tried it on mine and it does not.  Maybe I have a bad SD card.

I am rather disappointed with the lack of Sokkia "HOW TO GUIDES".

Look forward to hearing from you soon.   If you need me to email you the 4 files I can.

Thanks a bunch in advance!

Nick

I have the same gps, but I use sokkia spectrum survey field instead. And first of all you have to configure your base and set to collect raw data, and then dissconect and connect to the rover. Very easy. For processing data I use topcon tools 7.2 because we already had the license for this one. if you use the topcon tools you have to set the parameters for the anntena. for more info you can contact me.

I agree, we do need more How-tos for Sokkia instruments (here are 28 how-to discussions) (and other equipment) and we are steadily accumulating more and more...please feel free to share any tips or tricks (like the one you have above...very helpful) within this group or any support  group on the network. Sorry i am not too familiar with this receiver but i'll share this discussion with a couple of buddies of mine who are Sokkia wizards....good luck!
