Hello,Could anyone confirm if I can take de gnss suitcase as a carry on luggage into an airplane.I'll appreciate your response.

    Yes airport scanners don't detect it as a treat
  • I took a crew to USVI from Baltimore with a full complement of equipment that included GPS. They opened our cases (our gun and gps were carry on) and asked questions. After a brief explanation we went right through. We used a golf luggage bag to house our poles and tripods and bi pods. We also had a large box shipped down there with radios, batteries, chargers and extra equipment we would need. If i were you i would take a copy of the contract and be ready to explain a process they wont understand.

    TSA has a facebook account that you can sen them a picture of what ever item you are questioning and they will let you know if you can carry it on or not.

  • GNSS suitcase is no problem. Rods, points, plumb bobs - probably.

    I would assume it would depend solely on the TSA screener/supervisor.Ā 

    I know I had to check all tools when I was doing field service.Ā  Basically if they don't know what it is, you're going to have to check it.
