  • I have tried the bollock display but all it does is just increase the contrast with more lcd lines being shown. I have charged the battery so it does not seem to be a battery problem so i am thinking it might be the display. Fingers crossed i hope it does not need replacing the  display but am suprised they all died at the same time. It is a dual display. They were working initially but i may have turned on the heating switch to heat the dispplay panel. I dont know if this would have damaged both. ????

Hi, My first thought was also the black dial/knob under the display as suggested above. I guess if it is not that then you will struggle to navigate to the parameters as I guess you cannot read the display?
Could be faulty display but seems odd that both would go..

According to Stan Denison at Superior Survey Services in Tampa, the following

Yes, there is a bollock dial underneath the keypad you can turn to dark and light in the display comma if that doesn't work then go into the menu and look under parameters for brightening darkening the screen

  • All black on an LCD like that can indicate a short or it may have overheated. These LCD use current to heat the crystal backing to shift from clear towards black. If this unit was left in the hot sun then the display is probably toast and needs replaced
  • first, check the batteries, recharge all the batteries and try again many time or replace batterie. maybe the machine was stored during a long time in bad conditions. if it does not work , your dealer hid information about the history of the machine.
