Survey Legend

Helping Our Fellow Land Surveyors who have Passed Preserve Their Legacy

The greater land surveying community and profession in general is in a unique situation compared most all other industries.     We are losing more surveyors than we are gaining.    This means we are literally losing decades of surveying knowledge and our most valuable mentors every single day.  This is not breaking news but rather a call to action.

Therefore, after much reflection, we have a new app in the works for the Surveyor App Suite, dedicated to remembering our fellow land surveyors when they pass.

The Surveyor Tribute App is a new and simple way to share a photo and message about a fallen land surveyor who made an impact on your life.  You can share your thoughts and allow other surveyors to pay their respects.  We may never recover the surveying knowledge that they have taken with them, but we can leave remarks regarding what they shared with us during their time on Earth.  This knowledge and expertise is priceless to the land surveying community and for future land surveyors in search of mentors.   Please feel free to document anything about their legacy in land surveying and most importantly, what they taught you.

Land Surveyor Tribute APP for RIP

3713229817?profile=RESIZE_710xThe Surveyor Tribute App is currently in Beta phase so when you visit for the first time, you will need to acquire a PIN to add Tributes.  Next week, we will whitelist all members of Land Surveyors United community so if you are a member of the community, you will be able to automatically sign in.

If you would like to Recognize and Remember a Fallen Surveyor, add them to the App today and help us beta test the new app!  This app is exclusive to Land Surveyors United Members.

How to Utilize Surveyor Forums

How to use Forums
Our forums on Land Surveyors United are here to be used as much for finding help with problems in the field as the are for you to express your opinions on anything that has to do with land surveying in general. Feel free to share anything that is on your mind, as long as it isn't meant to damage another member's reputation. Please keep it clean and help insure that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of being part of a community that grows together.

We are committed to allowing freedom of expression for all of our members, and that includes maintaining a safe space for people with opposing views to express themselves. We get posts from all over the country and even the globe, so needless to say, people come with different viewpoints on lad surveying practices and processes. We see this diversity and variety as a real strength-- dialogue and debate are an integral part of the educational process, as well as an important tool in exploring different sides of complex issues.

All Community Hubs inside the community have their own forum for asking specific questions to other surveyors, by location, equipment type, etc.
