  I originally liked to wear Wolverine work boots, lace ups of course, but i have come to favor Timberland Pro anti fatigue souls with composite toe. They have a decent life span. I've came to the conclusion that the only boot that lasts forever are the ones not worked in.

  I'm really surprised there isn't any Red Wings in this! A few guys I've worked with in the past swear by them.

    I do have a pair of Red Wing Heritage. The shoes is very nice and I don't want to use them in the field. ;-)

  I wear Carolina Logger boots with 600 grams thinsulate and NO steel toes year around. The pair I have now is due for replacing after almost 3 years of abuse! Comfortable, dry, warm, and tough!

  I work in the mountains of North Carolina and these boots hold up to the test! As far as snakes, never had one try to bite me.

  I have five (5) surveying boots - one for each type of work environment I am currently dealing with: 4 Danners and 1 Muck Boots I am planning to buy another pair of boots - LaCrosse. Boots are absolutely equally important as surveying intruments.

    Arnel,

    LaCrosse boots definitely have my blessing, especially for boots for muck and snow.  The manufacturer is very near my home, and I trust them.  I have been wearing various LaCrosse boots since about 1993 and have found that they are durable and well made.  If you have any problem with these boots, I would be surprised.

  Thank you guys for sharing your ideas and experiences that helped me realized that surveying boots are equally important as instrument.

  These boots are providing me more confidence and increased safety in the field.

  Hi Scott!

  My new pair of 8" Danner Super Rain Forest Boots (Non Metallic Safety Toe) just arrived today. As I said, you were the one who made me understood clearly the importance of best boots as they are equally important with survey equipment. You also pointed out the importance of having different boots in different site situations. Now I have three pairs of Danner boots. A lot of investment but worth it.
