  • If you like to get a DWG file that contains the separated layers (for example point type entity in X Y h on a layer, code on the other layer (test entity) and  elevation value on the different layer (as text entity), yes I can help you. can do this using a *****.csv file exported from Excel.

  • I think the first question is, are you trying to go directly into AutoCAD, or an application like Civil 3D or other 3rd party application? There are programs that can import survey data and write a DXF or DWG file, and then there are programs that run on AutoCAD or an AutoCAD engine. Each will have separate ways to import survey data. Once you know where you are going it is easier to define a specific process for generating a file that can be read and the steps for actually importing it.
    • I hope my Program 'CSV TO AUTOCAD' can help you.
You can Export MS Excel coordinate to AutoCAD and can import AutoCAD Coordinates to MS Excel.
      You can download from

Please send your comments how it’s working.
      • hi h r u  rajase karan  i am not abale to worke with this pls give me some more help to work
  • I save my excel files as tab delimited txt files... open them in notepad.. hit ctrl H and relpace all the tabs with a comma... my excel files are point number, x,y,z,description . Any of the Autudesk surveying packages can import that type of txt file as points. Points import... choose the format.... etc...
    • When using find and replace (Cntrl H), how do you enter a tab as the thing to be replaced with the comma? All i seem to get to happen is that i change boxes when using the tab button (as you would expect!!)

      Thanks, and regards,

      Tim
      • use ^t for a single tab. Let me know if that works. that should be a standard in all Microsoft Office programs.
    • Thank you don. I will try this.
  • from other post I reconed you are using Leica 1200 gear, so the best would be to either use LGO and export CSV file or export CSV file right from the total station.
