  • O.K., help me out. What problems are you trying to solve? Usually, a client wants to get as many lots from a piece of property as he can. There are area constraints, frontage, setback, access, drainage, sewerage, minimal buildable area constraints and other requirements. What am I missing? Engineers seem to love spread sheets, particularly for drainage. Some surveying software is primarily just a spread sheet. I never liked either one. I guess nobody likes to change the way they do things but if their is a significant advantage, I will take a look at it. I don't do much lot subdivision these days. I like rural acreage & geodetic control surveys.

    dear friend,

there are softwares which solve this issue. Nmax and kim projects are the best, even arcGIS does this, so visit the sites to get some help.

  • Formulas? You just do what your client wants, consistent with what the planning commission will approve & good survey practice. What do you want excel for? Get a good cogo program.

Did you ask inside the Excel group?  From memory, it seems like there is a program someone shared for that..
