Land Surveyor

Dear Friends

I have a hobby that i started a few year ago.

I love to collect some old stuff of old survey equipments.

I find an old data logger in good shape, but with no information about battery and chargers

Its a Pentax SC-5 1993, I will appreciate if some one give me a hint in this

Really don't know if there exist  a forum about old instruments.

best regards

  •  Javier , Thank you for the shout back, glad I could help. This DC was very advanced at this time and was very reliable . I have seen a few  for sell on ebay and Amazon  and other place. I have a HP 41CX I got in 1983, It still works like new, both of these were built to last, very good electronics back then.

  • Hi Javier,

Boy do you bring back some memories, I do remember the Bat's where NICAD and the charger was CMT AC adapter  and it charged for about 15 hours but you did not have to charge it but 1 or 2 times a week.

I really liked this DC but started using HP 48 with SMI. Also had used a Topcon DC around about this time.

I have a manual for it somewhere ,but back to yours. Pentax has never let me down, they are tough although they did not cost  as much as others sometimes. I will send you what I have.I do have the operators manual plus a bookmark link with info on it, best if you copy and paste this page, a lot of times these get removed and are no longer available.

      Thanks you very much Billy

Hope I can start up the Sc-5 and check the functions that appear  in the manual.
