Can anyone help me  "How to change prism constant or add new prism constant  in Sokkia net05X instrument"

Actually we are monitoring a building and install targets constant is 17.5mm but I'm tired to change the prism constant in my total station (SOKKIA NET05X) it's take only -17mm.

I spoke with local Sokkia office he saying SOKKIA didn't make  "+" constant prism so you can't add it.

Only "-" constant can be added.

Thanks,

Mustakim Ansary

Hi, Mustakim Ansary - What type of prisms are you using? Some years ago I was the Vice-President of Product Development for Sokkia based in Overland Park, KS. It is my understanding all prisms have a negative offset with the exception of "0" offset prisms, which I would not recommend in any precise measurements. The Nodal Point of a "0" offset prism is not over the plumb line and may cause serious sighting errors. Also, recently I have been involved in structure monitoring and if I can help please drop me a email. Good luck on your project. Robert

Hi, I know this is a tough problem. Good luck.

  •  Hi Mustikim, I would contact Sokkia support on line are by phone. I have used Sokkia TS and never had a problem changing this . This is new to me, this TS only uses  Sokkia prism. Why ? This does not seem likely, but who knows. You do not have a manual ?. Are you not using a Data collector, you could set your distance offset in collimation screen on the prism constant screen no matter what is set in the gun.

    good luck with this.
