Hello Fellow Surveyors,
I am using a Trimble TSC2 data collector. The place where I work has a local coordinate system. When I create a new job:
Coord System Local Site
Units US Survey Feet
Linkesd Files None
Active Map None
Feature Library Global Features
Cogo Settings Ground
Then I copy between jobs: Calibration only....Bringing in the local site calibration which is at ground.
My question is: If I'm given State Plane Coordinates at grid how can I use the data collector to transform them to the local coordinates at ground?
Any suggestions would be appreciated?

Hi Paul,
Not sure if you can with keyed in co-ordinates on the TSC. I would suggest using Trimble Geomatics.
Set up a project in the State Plane grid, enter the co-ordinates. Then change the Project co-ordinate system to the one in the TSC and it should automatically transform them for you. Not sure how to do this in Trimble Business Centre, but I am sure that you would be able to.

I have always found Trimble Geomatics to be simpler for this. It is a much older program but it really make sit simple. You might be able to download it from the Trimble Site for free these days.
What CAD software do you have? If you have Autocad Civil 3D, that also has a really simple transformation option. Or perhaps try a GIS program...
