Attribute Display in New Points Spreadsheet TBC ?

Hello Fellow Surveyors,

Can anyone tell me how to set defaults so that Attributes entered in the field with codes are displayed along side Pt numbers in the New Points Spreadsheet in TBC ?

New Points Spreadsheet

Point    Northing    Easting    Elevation    Description    Attribute#1?     Attribute#2?

1           1000          1000          100               CP              60d Nail?        At Grade?

I have seen this information displayed like this but having trouble finding directions on how to do that.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks, Paul

Thank you Paul for a detailed question and thank you Dean for a detailed answer.  This is what Land Surveyors United is all about; surveyors helping surveyors to be better surveyors.  In these times of flux in the profession and industry, whether we be absorbed by technology or absorbed by the need for redefinition of what it is that "we" do, it is important to consider how quickly one might become stagnant in his/her profession without proper support and mentoring.

    • Thanks Scott....LSU is a great resource because of the people involved...Its a good place to be..Paul

  • Under Project settings > View > Points Spreadsheet you can turn items on and off (hide and show).  Also under Feature Code Processing you can load in your library.  Once you have a "New Points Spreadsheet" tab open, it is just like a 3d view, you can close it or print or save and I'm pretty sure you can drag the columns to be in the order that you would like them to be.  good luck, I hope I helped.

    • Thanks Dean for getting back to me. That is exactly what I wanted to do....Ive been setting up a field to finish survey environment in Civil 3D 2012 and developing  a code list in TBC feature manager to filter into both. Just finished adding attributes and symbols to each code....its great to be able to see all of your field input along that one line in the new points spread sheet. You did help and I appreciate it, Thank You!  Paul
