Topcon AT-F6 automatic level calibration

I have an old Topcon AT-F6 automatic level which is in need of some adjustment after not doing so well in a peg test.

No one in the company can remember which way to turn the screws/adjusters to move the crosshair.  All they can remember is if they turn it the wrong way, it breaks.

Could some one provide me with a brief run-down on how to adjust the level without breaking the machine?
