You don't need a GFF format for Topcon Tools. Tools accepts the raw file from NGS if your in the US or one of it's territories. However if your outside of the good old US, or even if you are and too busy to navigate the NGS website, try this...Re-install Topcon Tools, it's a free download and free upgrades !!!! at www.topconpositioning.com. Yes, you have to register and login (look in the upper right hand corner of the Topcon website). Special Note: Hurry all you Tools users - Topcon is moving from Tools to "Magnet" and I don't think that will be free.... Anyway, when you install a new version of Topcon Tools select "custom" install. This will allow you to download geoid models from all parts of the world, including the US, with the install. You must be connected to the internet. If you are in a, well, not so populated place in this small world, you can select to download a world geoid produced by the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) . This is a VERY large file, too big for most data collectors. As a work around...Use the free utility, TopLINK, to create your own geoid defined by a min-max Long Lat. ref: http://toposcanner.blogspot.com/2011/02/topcon-working-with-geoid-f....
!!!!!! The National Geodetic Survey has released updated models for 2012...http://www.ngs.noaa.gov/GEOID/
Thank you, my work is regularly between 5°E and 18°W Longitude, and between 16°N and 40°N. thanks for your help
