My early background in Surveying began in the 70's after completing a BA in English and then an Assoc. Degree in Land Surveying. My first land surveying work was very rewarding and interesting. It primarily involved extensive title search and retracing boundary evidence of large land tracks in the southern Adirondacks. These were still the days of theodolite and chain measurements for the most part. Then 2 years in the Peace Corps as an ag. extension agent in Sierra Leone doing primarily rice paddy development and Survey/Mapping support for paddy irrigation systems. After Peace Corps I went out to the west coast (CA)to work for the US Forest Service as a Transportation Planner, Logging Systems Specialist, wildland fire fighter, and eventually back into Cadastral Surveying with the USFS and BLM. My work as Party Chief of a Cadastral Survey crew involved retracing suspect and/or fraudulent 1880's GLO surveys in remote Northern CA mountains. After 35 years with the USFS, I'm now back East(PA) winding down my FS career and planning/building my next career as a private practice Licensed Professional Surveyor.
I have experience with the following
GPS, cadastral, boundary surveys, GIS, Archeaology, Construction

Hey Bennie OH mean Bernie, Sorry for this I didn't have my glasses on , i looked again this morning on my page and saw i read your name wrong . HavingĀ eye surgery next week. sorry again Bernie.
Hey, Bennie is that a Honda Trail 50, sure looks like one.I loved mine had to move on to three and four wheelers. yamaha made a bwĀ big wheel that was a bike with All terrainĀ tires they only made them 2 years, i love mine in the woods it was a step to make a 2 wheel machine approved for forrest trails, because of low pressure tires, i had a time getting mine approved. No it must have 3 or 4 wheels was all i heard. The head Ranger finally gave in an issued me a permit.
YEP, MY SYSTEMSĀ ARE BETTER THAN WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO DAY.Ā Ā Ā YOU CAN NOT FIND ANY OF THESE YOUNG GUYS WHO EVEN OWN A CALCULATOR, THEY WANT TO DO EVERYTHING ON COMPUTERS, AND WHATS UP WITH NOT USING A DATA COLLECTOR, NO WAY A TOTAL STATION FASTER, THEY DO NOT WANT TO LEARN ANY MATH, HOW ARE THEY TAKEN A TEST I TRIED TO GET THEM INTERESTED IN EMULATORSĀ NO LUCK,Ā TDS STILL MAKES GOOD STUFF YOU KNOW THERE PART OF TRIMBLE NOW. I AM LEARNING THE HP PRIME PROGRAMMING NOW I THINK IT'S REAL COOL. DID YOU SEE ALL THE PROGRAMS I GAVE ON THE HP 35,Ā IT IS USE MORE THAN ANY OTHER CALCULATOR TO TAKE A SURVEY EXAM. I ALSO SHOWED HOW TO USE IT MANUALLYĀ TO SURVEY WITH AND HOW TO USE LINEAR REGRESSION ON IT, AND TO USE INDIRECTLY ADRESSINGĀ MEMORY. WHAT OTHER CALCULATOR CAN DO ALL OF THIS. AND WHY NO COLLECTORS, Ā ME A DATA COLLECTOR ANY DAY . THANKS YOUR INTEREST BENNIEĀ Ā PSĀ I DID SOME WORK WITH THE FORREST SERVICE TOO. AND IT SHOWED IN MY TREE SURVEYS. THEY CALLED ME TREE MAN, GOOD TO MET YOU.
