I sincerely hope that Justin and Scott Warner do not get angry at me for sharing this super amazing infographic that they made, but it was just too cool not to share. Future versions may appear. What you are looking at is an infographic which explains how a surveyor may feel at various levels of Land Surveyors University- a community project which is in progress right now and I've heard that we get our Level One Mission on Monday. Land Surveyors University is a first-of-its kind global community education event for geospatial professionals around the world. Each level of the university represents a piece of the body of knowledge that an experienced professional land surveyor should possess on their quest to becoming an expert. Level One is where we will all start as a community, graduating throughout the following year to higher and higher levels by demonstrating knowledge of fundamentals in the form of 'missions.' Demonstration of knowledge is accomplished by submitting 'evidence' in the form of a photo or video along with a detailed description of the process. The result of this process will serve as educational material for other surveyors around the world to learn from. For example, Surveyors will be teaching GIS professionals fundamentals and GIS pros will learn more about surveying. In return everyone learns how to become better at what they do. Thanks Scott and Justin for sharing this with me.
