Total Station Setup

1-Setup the tripod with tribrach over the point using the optical plummet to center the setup directly over the point. 2-Step the tripod firmly into the ground and rough level the tripod with the legs only. 3-Check that the tribrach is still directly over the point using the optical plummet. 4-Place the Total Station onto the tribrach and lock it in prior to letting go of the instrument. 5-Turn the face of the instrument parallel to two of the screws and turn thumb screws equally and opposite to level the instrument in one direction. 6-Turn the face of the instrument perpendicular to the initial angle and level the instrument with the third thumbscrew.
