I teach the surveying component of the Civil Engineering Course at LaTrobe University Bendigo. Before that, apart from studying surveying as part of my degree, I did a small amount of surveying as part of my job with one of the local shire councils, mainly detail surveys. I was asked to come back and teach at LaTrobe, and the topics covered include basic 3rd order levelling, datums, mapping, theodolite operations, area and volume calculations, resections, inaccessible points, horizontal and vertical curves.
