  • Name of Total Station: Topcon GPT 80001A
    Location: Puerto Rico
    All-around rating: 7.5
I would recommend this total station to any Surveyor, because it has a data collector integrated to the total station which helps in having less equipment to carry around and it is the same TDS program from any other data collector. It is robotic which make work convenient, fast and easy and it is durable for harsh climate conditions. I personally have gotten it a little wet, and fell down with the total station in the case and has not suffered a thing, of course a technician check it regularly and its still working like new. I have used it since 2001.
    • Hi Omar! Thanks for this input. What's the idea why is your all-around rating is 7.5? Is reliability on the 2.5 side? How about accuracy? How about stability? How about dependability? How is it compared with Leica TCRA1100 series?
    • HI. I meant over-all because I don't want to rate the instrument one rating individually, I didn't know it had to be so specific so you can understand it. I rated it 7.5 because no instrument is perfect. The instruments accuracy is 3", and since I use it since 2001, 9 years, its dependability is very good. I personally have tried Leica and Nikon instruments and I prefer Topcon. The Leica you are talking about I have never used it or heard about it. The Topcon I use is the instrument I make money with and it has never let me down and I don't plan to change it until it is no longer useful.
